ScreenX

ScreenX is a large-format cinema system that extends the image onto the side walls as well as the main screen, creating roughly a 270-degree field of view. Developed by CJ CGV and KAIST, it uses the theater walls themselves as screens, so the picture continues past the edges of what a normal flat screen can show. Unlike IMAX, which enlarges a conventional single image, ScreenX changes the shape of the image rather than only its size, which is why it is usually paired with Dolby Atmos or 4DX.
